Adherence to physical therapy is a major issue in patient recovery. It can be difficult to make time for sessions, and there is often uncertainty about completing therapeutic regimens correctly on one’s own. The TENZR™ wearable device solves many of these problems by accurately measuring wrist range of motion, monitoring the movement virtually, and reporting it to the physiotherapist. It allows for expert guidance remotely via convenient telehealth sessions, and the development of personalized physiotherapy protocols for each patient.

Through the MedTech Accelerator program, BIT BioInteractive Technologies optimized the device to create a more flexible, responsive physiotherapeutic tool. Usability testing resulted in engaging rehabilitation exercises that made therapy more fun for patients, which increases adherence. By monitoring patient progress and collecting motion data, TENZR improves patient outcomes and reduces recovery time.

"What was really fantastic was hearing from the experts and mentors and the physicians at Mayo Clinic who are also entrepreneurs and have commercialized technology, and their sharing those stories with us openly."
